Harrington is in the WA State Apple Maggot Quarantine Area
The purpose of the apple maggot quarantine is to stop the spread of apple
maggot into pest-free areas of the state. State law prohibits the movement of homegrown fruit and municipal waste from a quarantined area into or through a pest-free area. Bin for all yard waste, tree & bush trimmings provided "in season" at corner of Third and Linden.

DOG LICENSES
License fee for each neutered/spayed dog is $15.00, and $25.00 for each dog that is not neutered/spayed.
Each dog must be licensed annually by the last business day in May or fees are higher.
The City Council of Harrington approved Ordinance #488 pertaining to the licensing, vaccination, and registration requirements of dogs; prohibiting dogs from running at large within the corporate limits of the
City of Harrington; or creating a public nuisance by barking; proper disposal of animal waste; authorizing the impoundment and destruction of dogs; providing for civil penalties; and superseding all other
ordinances in conflict.
Livestock & Zoning
Livestock is only allowed outside the livestock boundary when the animals are permitted by the City. By Zoning Ordinance #319, no livestock is allowed within the boundary. By Ordinance #104, livestock can be allowed outside this boundary, provided the City Clerk is informed, and a permit is approved.
